Army Cadet Command partners with universities to recruit, educate, develop, and inspire Senior ROTC Cadets in order to commission officers of character for the Total Army; and partners.

The OML ranks all Army ROTC seniors across the nation, with the top 20 percent earning the designation of Distinguished Military Graduate. This year there were 1,119 Distinguished Military Graduates out of the 5,579 cadets on the OML.
Cadets' OML rankings are determined by a number of criteria, including grade point averages, strong athletic performance in the Army Physical Fitness Test and college athletic participation, performance during college ROTC training and at the Leader Development and Assessment Course at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, outside Tacoma, Wash.
This year the top 10 cadets are:

4. Aimee E. Moores from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va.

6. Kyle C. Feldman from Claremont McKenna College, Claremont, Calif.
7. Oran B. Carroll, Jr. from the University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, Texas.
8. Rachelle G. Boucher from Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, Ky.
9. Patrick S. Anderson from the University of Texas at San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas.
10. Joseph W. Riley from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va.
The mission of U.S. Army Cadet Command is to commission officers to meet the Army's leadership requirements through the senior ROTC program, and to operate a world-class citizenship program to instill life skills in high school students through Junior ROTC.

What is Army ROTC?
The mission of the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is to recruit, retain, develop and commission the future officer leadership of the United States Army and motivate young people to be better citizens through support of local JROTC programs.
The University of Tampa's Army ROTC program is designed for full-time undergraduate or graduate students seeking an officer commission in the Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard.
How do I join?
First, you must be accepted to the University (apply online). Campus tours can be scheduled through the ROTC Department or through the Office of Admissions at (888) 646-2738. After acceptance, schedule an interview with the Recruiting Operations Officer (ROO) at (813) 258-7200. If you are already an enrolled University of Tampa student, you can visit our office located on the second floor of the General Peter J. The University of Tampa is a highly respected medium-sized private university located in the heart of Florida. How does this program compare?
UT has one of the most outstanding ROTC programs in the nation, offering demonstrated excellence, adventure, challenge, travel, camaraderie and leadership opportunities. Our alumni include three Medal of Honor recipients, former Army generals and distinguished members of the federal and state government.
Two ROTC cadets were awarded the Raytheon Trophy by the Secretary of the Army in 1996 and 2005, distinguishing them as the most outstanding ROTC commissioned graduates in their respective commission years. UT's Army ROTC program is ranked among the highest in the nation. We are the only non-military college with multiple Raytheon Award winners.
Twenty percent of the program's 2011 commissioned graduates achieved the Distinguished Military Graduate (DMG) award from Warrior Forge. DMG includes the top 20 percent of all cadets in the nation and is the highest achievement cadets can earn in Army ROTC after the Raytheon Award. The program had the highest DMG selection rate in all of Cadet Command for 2007, which was also the highest rating for 20 programs in the southeast, including colleges and universities in Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
What about scholarships?
The Army ROTC scholarship pays for 100 percent of tuition and fees, a $1,200 per-year book allowance and a stipend of $420 per month. Another excellent reason to choose UT is that the University provides 'average' room and board grants to all Army ROTC scholarship recipients. Learn more about UT room and board grants. What about my job after graduation?
Graduates can request to serve on active duty or in the Army Reserve or National Guard and select from 16 different career choices.
